In this behind-the-scenes interview Tim Mahoney talks with Dr. Peter van der Veen and Mori Michael Bar Ron about twin mountain peaks in the Sinai Peninsula they believe to be Mount Sinai and Mount Horeb.
These peaks, Jebel Saniyah and Jebel Ghoriba, are in close proximity to the mines at Serabit el-Khadim, where the world’s oldest alphabet, Proto-Sinaitic, was discovered. Some scholars, including Mori Michael, have translated this ancient Semitic script as Hebrew - connecting it to Moses and the Israelites.
Peter and Michael share their insights on why they believe these inscriptions strengthen the case for their favored Mount Sinai candidate.
