In our first episode of this exciting series, Jim and Penny Caldwell share special insights on their first trip to Jabal al-Lawz. After a disappointing trip to the Traditional Mount Sinai in the Sinai Peninsula, their quest to locate the real Mount Sinai was reignited by Italian Archaeologist, Emmanuel Anait's book, "The Mountain of God."
Although Anati believes Har Karkom in the Negev of Israel to be Mount Sinai, he pointed to Jabal al-Lawz as possibility, propelling the Caldwells from Egypt back into Arabia, where they had been living due to Jim's work for Aramco.
What was it like for the Caldwells traveling through the deserts and wadis of Saudi Arabia? What happened to them and what did they encounter the first time they reached Jabal al-Lawz? What drove them to return to the mountain a total of 15 times to document the archaeological remains in the area?
